Bintan ish fun

Had a short getaway in Bintan during the weekend. hee

Stayed in a small villa called Banyu biru, a whole bungalow with 3 rooms and a full fledged kitchen for all to use.

1st day, went out with a bunch of friends, we didnt do much except had a rather expensive seafood dinner which we booked before our trip. kinda overrated if you asked me.

then we pop by La Luna beach club for some mini 'cheong' session. The dj played some trance, later some retro and some house music. some dancers came in and tried to 'stir the crowd'. but the thing is, not much people is there. hence me and my friends just chilled for around an hr before calling it quits.

The next day, I made some breakfast. Some pancake mix which I brought over from Singapore. We booked a vehicle (driver included) to take us around bintan. Their main town is call Tanjung Pinang and its a pity we didnt visit Tanjung Pinang as much as we could.

We spend the 1st 3 hrs at an isolated beach call Tricola, or something. Facing the south china sea. It was an amazing view. White pristine sandy beachs with waves coming in from the South China sea.

We drank local coconuts for Rp5000 (around $1). The villager gal was chopping the coconut with such ease and the parang was damn sharp. Mine coconut was still green but at least the juice is still drinkable.

Our driver is very friendly. he offered to pay for our coconuts while we explored the beaches and some seek shelter under the man-made hut.

it started to rain a little later and most of us were drenched. but it didnt drenched our spirits. We were chauffered to a place call SHANGRI LA seafood restaurant for a cheap seafood. AND I AM VERY SURPRISE that it cost only $120 for a full meal for 7 person. WOW!

and we found out we didnt have enough time to walk around Tanjung Pinang because we had Action Terrain Vehicle (ATV) later on. The highlight of the whole bintan must be the ATV. For $40 per person, its a steep price. but it compensate for the fun and thrill we never had in Singapore.

One of my friend even crashed into the ditch in one occasion which made everyone laugh.

We spend the remainder of the evening swimming in the resort pool which faces the sea. We even played basketball in the water. haha!

The last day finally arrived and we had our breakfast vouchers bought previously before our trip. It was quite an Ok breakfast. Nothing much ho-ha about it.

then we proceed to the Mana Mana Beach (now known as Nirwana beach club) for banana boat! Pity there is not enough space for 7 ppl. So we took turn, 3 first then 4 later. We never fell into the sea haha.

the beach water is clear and the sand is so fine you even could thought that it is flour instead of sand! I saw one jellyfish bobbing happily near the surface and hence we never go and bother with it.

Pity I nvr get to drive a buggy around the island. Sad. (fully booked). I asked to check out and the receptionist called for 2 buggy drivers and drive us from our villa to the reception counter. How sweet!

We took the land tranfers and board for the return ferry at around 230pm. We reached Singapore at around 4pm and one of our friends was caught for 'smuggling' in 1 boxes of cigars which he did not declare. but in the end, he paid like $1 per stick (still cheap) to bring it out.

The end of a fun and interesting bintan trip ended just like that.

The woes of becoming a future car-owner comes next lolx.
