Bintan ish fun

Had a short getaway in Bintan during the weekend. hee

Stayed in a small villa called Banyu biru, a whole bungalow with 3 rooms and a full fledged kitchen for all to use.

1st day, went out with a bunch of friends, we didnt do much except had a rather expensive seafood dinner which we booked before our trip. kinda overrated if you asked me.

then we pop by La Luna beach club for some mini 'cheong' session. The dj played some trance, later some retro and some house music. some dancers came in and tried to 'stir the crowd'. but the thing is, not much people is there. hence me and my friends just chilled for around an hr before calling it quits.

The next day, I made some breakfast. Some pancake mix which I brought over from Singapore. We booked a vehicle (driver included) to take us around bintan. Their main town is call Tanjung Pinang and its a pity we didnt visit Tanjung Pinang as much as we could.

We spend the 1st 3 hrs at an isolated beach call Tricola, or something. Facing the south china sea. It was an amazing view. White pristine sandy beachs with waves coming in from the South China sea.

We drank local coconuts for Rp5000 (around $1). The villager gal was chopping the coconut with such ease and the parang was damn sharp. Mine coconut was still green but at least the juice is still drinkable.

Our driver is very friendly. he offered to pay for our coconuts while we explored the beaches and some seek shelter under the man-made hut.

it started to rain a little later and most of us were drenched. but it didnt drenched our spirits. We were chauffered to a place call SHANGRI LA seafood restaurant for a cheap seafood. AND I AM VERY SURPRISE that it cost only $120 for a full meal for 7 person. WOW!

and we found out we didnt have enough time to walk around Tanjung Pinang because we had Action Terrain Vehicle (ATV) later on. The highlight of the whole bintan must be the ATV. For $40 per person, its a steep price. but it compensate for the fun and thrill we never had in Singapore.

One of my friend even crashed into the ditch in one occasion which made everyone laugh.

We spend the remainder of the evening swimming in the resort pool which faces the sea. We even played basketball in the water. haha!

The last day finally arrived and we had our breakfast vouchers bought previously before our trip. It was quite an Ok breakfast. Nothing much ho-ha about it.

then we proceed to the Mana Mana Beach (now known as Nirwana beach club) for banana boat! Pity there is not enough space for 7 ppl. So we took turn, 3 first then 4 later. We never fell into the sea haha.

the beach water is clear and the sand is so fine you even could thought that it is flour instead of sand! I saw one jellyfish bobbing happily near the surface and hence we never go and bother with it.

Pity I nvr get to drive a buggy around the island. Sad. (fully booked). I asked to check out and the receptionist called for 2 buggy drivers and drive us from our villa to the reception counter. How sweet!

We took the land tranfers and board for the return ferry at around 230pm. We reached Singapore at around 4pm and one of our friends was caught for 'smuggling' in 1 boxes of cigars which he did not declare. but in the end, he paid like $1 per stick (still cheap) to bring it out.

The end of a fun and interesting bintan trip ended just like that.

The woes of becoming a future car-owner comes next lolx.

Have you seen this article?

Taken from Wed TODAY:

No end in sight to the workhorse grind
Letter from LAWRENCE SEOW
MURALI Sharma has gotten it
absolutely right in his I Say
piece, “The story of a workhorse”
(June 16-17).
Many people in Singapore work
long hours — it is expected of them
and hence, they do not have much
of a choice. It is not even occasional
overtime they are putting in, but
something that has become a routine
part of their job.
They come home exhausted
and have dinner at 10pm. They then
go to bed, only to wake up the next
day to go through the grind again.
How did we end up like this?
What with the progress of civilisation,
technological breakthroughs
and wealth of knowledge at our disposal,
the pace of life means life
seems to have passed us by, all too
quickly.
We make a living but do not really
have a life. If this is what we call
progress, I want no part in it.

If only there is more people out there who will speak up for the workhorses like me. lolx... I am sure all of you will agree with me on this lad sentences.

wakkakaka, I am indeed 'kiasu' but if I have to bank on PURE LUCK to get a reservation 2 weeks before August, I must be joking with myself. Nvrtheless, I looked forward to being.. (ahem) 29.. -_-"

I totally forgotten how old I am. I mean, I can really enjoy myself like those 22-23 yr old adults but I had not input age as a barrier to anything. until my friends had to remind me.. "east, u're not young, even fookie is a father at 29, many of your net friends is married/ with 1 or 2 divorced /planning to get married/ verge of marriage alreadY! "

-OK I KNOW THAT. CAN I BE A GOLDEN BACHELOR OR NOT! *roars* -

Despite being on MC today, I did something really... silly? or maybe not really. I took the Evo spoiler and make an hr long trip down to Ubi from Yewtee and pass it to the spray workshop. and coincidentally, the owner wasnt around, and he told me to pass it to his mom. (His mom??!!) So i amusingly, went to the 5th floor, saw an old lady which I think is his mum.

-I am really ashamed of myself after talking to her for a mere 5 mins-

THIS WOMAN KNOW MORE CARS INFO THAN I DO!

I was talking to her about patching one of the holes in the spoiler when she interjected me like 3 times in a row..

ME: "Auntie ah, G asked me to pass you my spoiler..."

AUNTIE: "Ah yes, G told me about it."

ME: " Erm, I am supposed to inform you so you can inform G that I have a little hole in my spoiler..."

AUNTIE: -pass it over and inspecting it- "ahh yes I found the hole, dont worry we can patch it up."

ME: " well you see, I was afraid your workshop is unable to do so, luckily the spoiler is made of "

1st INTERJECTION
AUNTIE: " yeah I KNOW, its FIBER"

ME: "Oh you knew that? hehe.. *sheepish* well, actually my color of choice is that black Mit Lancer basic code which is.. "

2nd INTERJECTION
AUNTIE: " Mit Lancer Black Mica X42, yes I understand"

ME: *even more sheepish* "Oh, you knew that too? hehe..."

ME: " so erm, I will come to Ubi to install it on Monday on 25th when I returned from my short trip, so the installation must be mounted before.."

LAST INTERJECTION
AUNTIE: " Mounted on rubber platform with machine screws thread size xxx length xxx "

ME: *OPEN MOUTHED* "Ok.."

-I must really go back and start reading the forum pages again. NO! make that 10 forum pages a day. -

So we ended this little episode to talked about my final issue.

I was a lil messed up couple of days ago. A good friend of mine Y show me a pic of another friend B whom worked in an airline. So when B appear on msn, I showed her the pic and crapped about how I found it on the net and then we proceed to talk about other things later after, which never crossed my mind that Y might be offended by my action.

I do admit I was a bit insensitive on my part. and as forseen, she was generally pissed so we had a conversation abt it. then I realized its not the nature of the matter that pissed her, but the principle of the matter per se. Generally I was apologetic and hope things will cool off in a while.

I guess I am too insensitive on this affair, maybe I am beginning to feel like only monetary affairs are generally taken offensively and personally. but since Y is my good friend, I should be more emotionally corresponding in future.

but despite all these issues we had, used to have and perhaps for future issues we might even faces conflicts with, I must say we do understand each other better by the days. Being Leo sometimes pisses people off without realizing.

I just hope we can cool it and we'll go back to talking terms again. and no, its not going to stop me from asking her to my birthday bash as well. (I promised to bring her and her bf to cheong one of these days)

So Y, if you are reading this, I am sorry for my insensitivity.

Yours sincerely
bee

I guess I really messed up sometimes...

AM I ready for MARRIAGE?

Taken from Xixi blog. hehe
Well, I guess I aint ready for much things yet. this car will show me committments for 10yrs. If I cant maintain a car, I cant do anything long-term. Now you know the reason why I forced myself to own a liability. LOLx

You Are 52% Ready for Marriage

You aren't quite ready for marriage, but you're getting close.
You still have a few relationship issues to work out - whether it's with your current partner or someone new.

Apologies!

Yeah I probably heard that a zillion times..

(thanks to bee for informing me again :P )

I did not blog as much as before. well.. I DID made an (failed) attempt to blog about my lot in Lungshan temple. But in the end I couldnt find the missing lot and thus it was blank.

Anyway the lot was an 'above average' lot which says.. what will come will come. if i rush, it will not have much outcome. Something along the line that I must wait. and it will come eventually. (Love, cash, jobs, cars etc)

SO what was I DOING THESE FEW WEEKS!??

Besides getting real busy with the car paperworks, i joined ALL the lancer forums in Singapore *sure call me kiasu* and was reading them with great interest and it took like a few weeks to finish all the contents.

I meet a few car forum members, and I was deeply in awe at the make of their lancers. what seems to be the cheapest Japan made car with high fuel consumption and Not many ppl will 'look up' to, is actually a potential sports model inside them.

then there's work.. minor ones. Like prepareing to go Thailand to meet the customers which have me nightmares ever since I took over the Thailand account. Malaysia agent contract to terminate and invade across the causeway to take what belongs to ours. Long overdue dirty job I have to undertake.

I met Rachie a week ago. and I was 'SCAMMED' a dimsum lunch by her. (kidding =p) I do insist paying for her meal as mentioned in her blog. the last thing I wanted was a gal to pay for my meal.. unless she owe me like a million bucks. which in this case, I would prefer the million bucks lol

I am leaving for a 'secret overseas trip' again. Neighbouring resort. In a couple of weeks again. then its stock-taking for the company, then I will be flying off to ASEAN countries again in August.

Oh Oh! I might have a birthday bash with another friend of mine (Iori10) in St james in August! We plan to have the biggest table there so do watch out for my invite smses! (Bee u mentioned u wanna cheong, ur chance is here)

you know.. some family matter are never suppose to reveal.. I aint very secretive about it.. I am always very transparent in front of my blog.

today mum received an sms from Dad's hp. (I hardly call him Dad nowadays FYI :) ) Some woman called and hung up immediately on her when she picked up. So she screamed and ranted at Dad, and Dad pretends to feign ignorant and says maybe its a wrong number?

So I entered the living room, *Justice bao* style. (I was on my way out to Causeway point, and no time to entertain this family drama)

*Points to my dad*
Me; You wants ur innocence right?

*Points to my mum*
Me; You wants ur truth right?

*Points to my dad again* Now time is 7pm, leave ur hp to this 2 women (mum and sis) till 12mn. If no one calls up again, u are free to declare ur innocence.

*Points to my sis* Write an sms to this some-call woman using your hp, claim u are dad using someone else phone, lure the woman to call up. If its a WRONG NUMBER HE CLAIMEd, she wouldnt waste her time.

(I checked his hp history, this number appears more than 3 times, I doubt its a WRONG NUMBER, so I have to appear neutral so I nvr voice out)

So I came back earlier on, around 12mn, I just spend like $100 bucks on an EVO 8 spoiler (see inset) from a forum member who lived nearby.

The woman did call.and its an INDONESIAN WOMAN. my mum and sister spend less than 10 mins spurging all their vulgarities on this woman, who subsequently hung up and call my mum and sis 'GILA'. (Mad in Malay)

She ask if my dad wanna play..and she will be back in Singapore in 2009. (Probably a maid or something and her work permit had expired or something)I think that is enough to nail him to the crucifix.

But if you ask me.. the meaning of all these? the family is the one suffering. so as I came home, I saw the smudge look on the 2 women face, my dad pretending to be asleep.

Makes me feel like he's the escaped NKF director, FIRST FEIGN INNOCENT, then if all else fails, RUN AWAY.

And to end this entry, I left my word of wisdom, (write that down if you have a pen)

面子是别人给的,但又有时候,面子是自己筹上来给别人丢的!
