Pay day!

Got my first month salary from G. hehe

Its so fast when you're in the midst of things. A few car trips to customers, daily emails and updating of timesheets. One month just flew pass you like a flying arrow.

But of course, G dont practise giving us salary and transport reimbursement in one shot. I managed to claim in transport allowance alone, 1.7K! wahahahhahaa! XD

Those 2 components add up, makes east a happy man. but looking at my credit card bills.. sighz.. still some more months before I could clear 'em completely. =x

The culture in G, is still enigmatic to me. except for the fact that Eric is a completely walking timebomb (which had yet to show his true colors to me). Adwin still lies behind the screen and I hardly communicate with him much, Kenn is leaving for another dept. So it leaves me sometimes pretty much alone with 2 gers, a clerk and sales coordinator of another dept.

Connie and Toni are nice to me. they makes me feel at home. and besides the fact that they are single and available LOL (but of course, trust that me is very professional at work)

The workers still listens to me. altough they are one or 2 that did not talked much to me, overall I must say, they still listen. they simply have to listen i guess. when Kenn leaves the dept, they can only depend on me for future takings.

Mum saw me driving one of my worker to the MRT station on sat. As usual I will drive to PSC to fetch her home, as now we both work on Saturdays. knock off same timings. also a time for us mother and son to bond together. I have no complaint about this arrangement. except that I kept thinking.. how long is she continue to work over there.. or simply stay home and retire?

and another army friend one end of Oct.

Went G2000 to buy some new clothes for the weddings. Luckily Bugis is having a 20% sale which gives me much savings. Been quite a while since I bought some new clothings.

Also went to automobile shop to have my front headlight changed to White lights. Philips Diamond Vison Blue 5K approved by LTA. Cost $70 bucks but worth every cent. really liked the white lights on my ride.

I also changed the boot lights to LED too. Overall, I have changed almost all the stock lights from yellow or inferior lights to LED and whitelights. N is slowly evolving into something nicer. Its not drastic, but its gradual. I have 10 yrs to stay with N, I might as well make the best of it right?

Gonna get a maplight installed in front hehe =x windoe tinting the next coming Saturday!
Bodykits and air intake not changed yet. I promised myself I will be the best looking and performing lancer in the whole of Yewtee! the best!

Ganna a SAF summary 'trial' for missing IPPT for last yr work year. sighz -_-"
its on Oct 2nd, need to be in SAF uniform and answer their stupid question like, 'why u nvr go and take IPPT?'

ANs; BECAUSE I AM CHANGING MY FREAKING JOb, STUPID!

(and unfortunately those govt-paid civil servants doesnt know what is every man for themseleves when you are in the pte sector. we dun depend on GOVT collected money to earn a living)

Probably a fine ($50) and upcoming RT. and there are also 10,000ppl out there who made the same offenses anyway.

Have decided to get myself a short holiday when I get confirmed. during this period, 6 mths, I am not allowed to see a doc or apply any leave. isnt that absurd? Bangkok or some beach resort, probably next yr in 08 when I am officially confirmed.

Some spending therapy will do gd for me lolx

Making sense of it all..

I'm practically trying to make sense of being in this industry...

I'm aint sure of Eric intentions of me following the ah nehs for jobs. but I dun really mind if I am learning things there.

Firstly, I dun understand why the men dun allow me to do the foundation jobs with them. they want me to watch, idle and perhaps sleep. Of course I did some menial jobs like passing the liquid for them and doing some mixing jobs. But the main jobs of damming the foundations, which is easily the dirtiest job of all, they dun want me to get dirtied.

Even my foreman also dun allow me to do it. haiz. So I am the engineer, idling one that is. But despite that, my overall isnt as clean as it should be. anyway.

I should say I had the worst week of my life this week. My apologies for not updating as much as possible. I did not managed to reach home at the proper hrs for 2 days. and I MEAN PROPER HRS LIKE WITHIN 24hrs. I reached home from a job which lasted.. 30 hrs... -_-"

The fucking job at Jurong shipyard. Not only the security is tight, the fucking rules and regulations stinks too. NO MORE EXITING FROM THE YARD AFTER 6PM! CAN YOU FUCKING IMAGINE?

Anyway we dun have much complaints because it a huge engine we are doing that day, and we dun expect to complete much before 3am aT LEAST. BUT, NO FOOD? NO DRINKS? come on, at least release one of us to go for a quick 'dabao' for the guys right? The security guard the Jurong yard is so fucking 'haolian'. I actually left for 1-2 hrs that day to attend to another man's job at another yard. The guy says CANNOT. But follow procedures which means I must get a temp gate pass to come back. BUT I DID CALLED THE IN-CHARGE WHO IS NOT AROUND, and HIS HP is OFF. WELL DONE. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO HUH?

But i fucking bochap him and left the yard anyway. so the challenging part is coming back to the yard again. which LUCKILY, I managed to sneak in via some inproper channel. and the stupid guard dun even know. If I were to write in and lodge against him, he confirm lose his stupid job.

another nonsense thing about this line. Handphone. yeah, No camera phone because they regarded shipyards as a 'sensitive zone' . Of coz, you use the phone to call number, be it cam or non-cam. Whoeever had a cam-phone and take pics is really challenging the policies of course. but I dun think the upper mgtment understand this issue. they says, SORRY, NO CAMPHONE. FINE.

I got myself a non-cam phone couple of occasions back. AND 99% OF THE Time I am IN A NON-FUCKING SIGNAL ZONE! WTF RIGHT? Even WITH CAM PHONE OR BIG WATER BOTTLE HANDPHONE, I CANT EVEN CALL OUT! did the upper mgtment knows about it? or they fucking too rich to understand while they make policies for poor ppl to follow and they themselves fuck off to some golf resort and play ball?

I seriously think most of the policies here is set for idiots to follow. and unfortunately, in order to earn the pink dollars, you end up being the idiot. Like 100% of the time. *sigh*

So I had a fucked up job at the jurong yard from 8am in the morning till the next noon 12nn. Wow, I must be really pro enough to drive me back from Tuas to Yewtee in one piece without sleeping or following the road signals. and the next day, I still managed to get to work the next morning. of course, my foreman and some of the workers were quite surprised to see me at work the next day. (half expecting me to get the MC)

and to add to the mounting cost of this job, I had a problem with my overalls. Usually the laundry services in my company caters for the blue collared workers. so for engineers and white overalls staffs, the uniform will take (no pun intended) 1 mth before you can get your hands on clean suits. 1 MTH? TO WAIT FOR YOUR DIRTY-TO-CLEAN SUITS to be ready.

Unbelivable. I asked eric and kenn about this dilemma. Both of them replied curtly, 'get it washed at home, like us.'

I was wondering about 2 things.
1) Can my household clothes ever be CLEANED ENOUGH after i throw all the oil stained soiled uniforms to wash?
2) Will my washer machine retired early from it manufacture date if I tried to throw all my uniforms in, like weekly?

I guess the answer is all in your heads readers.

So much so, I tried asking for pricing from local private washers. $10 per overall. That's $40 per week for 4 clean suits. Just laundry. Not dry clean. $40? $160 for a mth? I can get my car twice as clean for this sum of money!

Drastic attempts calls for drastic measures. I went to Courts. I got myself a new washing machine. Just for washing my overalls.

it cost around 3 hund dollars. Samsung brand. They delivered today actually. And I have no idea how to install these and run concurrently with the current washing machine. I need a piping specialist. I cleaned 2 uniforms. the slightly cleaner ones. No problem. the dirtier ones I have problems. The stains wont come off. and the tank in the new washing machine feels oily and sticky after 2 wash.

Well at least it solves my suits cleaning problem.

2 more days to my first PROPER ACTUAL PAYDAY! cant wait to see the sum of money in the bank! XD Will host a lunch to thank my current colleagues for their support and help. and of coz another one for the co-workers. and perhaps another one for my family too. haha

Wedding invites is lining at me these couple of months. 2 weddings in OCtober. One from a secondary sch fren. the other one is a close relative. One at 2nd Oct and the other one, 10 days later. and end of mth, one more from my army friend. Geez. its so.. I duno? am i getting old? should I start planning for myself? I duno. I dun wanna think.

Was at the relative house yesterday, mum's brother actually. He turned 70 yesterday.
Zan's bdae is today. heh. Hope he had a gd day with Irene.

Social life is risking zero status currently. Got dates No time. Got time, only want to sleep. terrible line this is. No time for regret. but did think of times at PSM when I go home at 6pm everyday and SAT SUN is no work. Not anymore. *sigh*

I missed a settler's cafe gaming session with the folks couple of days back. and missed a large portion of movies as well. but frankly, did anyone miss me? or was I just part of the little things they had in mind? Cant helped thinking abt it.

Oh yeah I did went back to PSM to get my testimonial a week ago. Well written by CY! haha. But no one in the office talked to me much when I returned. Sighz.

I went Farmmart today. Was contemplating to get my house a Arowana to rear. But couldnt find any cheap and gd ones. Went all the way to Qian Hu to get some fresh ideas. Saw a funny fish 'spa' which advertise for $10 for 30mins. Some kind of small fish which feeds on your loose skin cells. Quite a novelty idea I must say. Should try that some time. Saw about 6 ppl trying the fish 'spa'.

Oh Lancer club is having a CCK meet up this monday. I think I just founded myself a group of common interest friends soon. A new CCK gang for me. =)

Meanwhile, I have to sleep. I need loads of it.

quite a headache.

First the security is darn tight. and the people aint really the kind you can smile at. K is going on 2 weeks reservists and he pushed everything to me, in an hr. expecting me to understand everything he had not done. haiz

So I finally completed the filing cabinet, the whole project cost 70bucks. straight out of my pockets. pending payment of course. (I told Eric the whole project about 40 dollars. Guess I'll have to sacrifice my allowance for the whole tidiness.

It was a quiet saturday today. Send some men to 2 jobs around the yards in the morning. and I was out the whole morning running errands for their monday jobs and getting some signatures on the job done over the week. (before I could do billing)

I was at the hardware supplier shop down at Pioneer road north, this certain Mr Teo from HS Warehouse is a chatty man. although our age is like half a mile apart, we have a lovely conversation. We talked about the sales we been giving them. any troubles in billing and invoicing, and before my departure, managed to get some silicon guns for my men to my office. Oh and my long-awaited safety belt too.

Now I am fully geared up for the trade manz! Safety helmet, safety belt, boots, safety glass, earplugs, and the stupid white overall. I just hope I wont have to donned all of this very often. *pray*

Oh I went to a pretty sensitive and interesting place this week. Its called an Anchorage. Its not exactly in Singapore. its a few miles off the shores of a certain shipyard in Singapore, which I had to take their designated ferry over to the location. Its like an isolated oil rigging station out in the sea. But Spore doesnt have oil in its area la. the company is just doing up the repair works for this anchorage before sending it to the open sea.

There are like 3 guard posts before I could even step on the oil rig. 2 of my ah nehs is there for 3 days already. They had been sleeping, shitting, eating there for 3 days to complete the 8 thruster motors. One of my men, Mr Tan, did not bring any clothes over, hence when we arrived, the stench coming from his clothes... is indescribable. =x

he was babbering about Eric 'sabo' him whom told him it was a one-day job. and din expect to drag for 3 days. I felt sorry for him. He's ard 50+ so maybe this old man got to let out some of his grievences.

I went to the anchorage with my foreman (pic attached as above) to do some testing. Meet the angmoh surveryor in the anchorage. we chatted a lil. the mech supervisor is charge of this project was very impressed by my men's work. and he wrote a compliments to Eric about this. We were very pleased indeed.

I took the opportunity to go out to the Heli-deck. (its a deck for helicopters to land). Wow, the view is simply amazing. The draft is strong and the air is sea-breeze freshness. I took a lil nap at the heli-deck while waiting for my ferry to take us back to mainland. (Ferry delayed, and the intervals is like every 2 hrs, and only 12 men can load inside the ferry. if your name isnt inside and its full, sorry, you gotta wait 2 more hrs)

Work have sort of fell into a standard procedure. I cant really say I am enjoying every moment of it. Especially getting used to waking up for Sat halfday. with more income, the sacrifices is inevitable.

my ex-coy is going for company trip. They called me up and told me about it. JEALOUS! lol

this time they are either going to Chiang Mai or Korea. and the new export exec whom took over my post is going too. Lucky him. Some company requires new personel to work for a yr before joining them for any activities. PSM isnt that kinda company. Lucky guy.

I went to AMK hub today. The closest I ever get to relive my painful memories of her. We had many memories of meeting each other at AMK MRT many yrs ago. I almost had the urge to drive to Hougang and just wait for her. I almost..

I swore to myself I will never ever step inside Hougang for as long as I live.I guess.. we can never ever goes back. When one is unable to goes back, one even when seen, will never get back the same feelings. and why.. would I ever want to have anything to do in that area.. or .. even her?

Anyway depressing topic aside. I have decided to get my Nokia 6110 Navigator from Singtel! my contract is expiring soon. Now the headache is either trading my SEK800i or my O2 atom which now stands at $250 trade-in value. If I sell it at ah beng shop, would it be more? you guys help me ask around la.. =p

The N6110 will help me get my way around Singapore. GPS is a very useful gadget nowadays. esp for blur roadie like me. =x

and the missing piece will come in next year, which I will trade my remaing phone from Starhub for the iPHONE! wahhahaha SWEE TIMING!

Received plenty of red bombs these 2 weeks in the mails. Ex-sch mates. Ex-chatter. Cousins. blah. WHY! WHY! WHY! all get married at yr-end! XD

Next week will be even more exciting! My carclub, Singapore LAncer club is invited by CAAS for a trial meet-up at T3! Wohoo! they will be testing their operation procedures there. and to make it interesting, they had made it into a game-like structure. So we will be able to maybe zoom around the airport? another carclub will also be involved. But nvm, since the slots is only 50 for lancerians, I am fortunate to be selected for this event! yeah~

There is talks about a charity event at the end of the yr by the SLC. Ferry orphans and under-privilieged children to Orchard road during Decemeber 8th. Those children are from ASEAN regions and some had never even sat in a car before. An organisation is responsible for their airticks and hotels, but they lacked cars. So SLC had spear-headed this for 40 car owners to do some good for the under-privileged. I send my entry for vetting, hopefully I will be able to redeem some of my sins by doing some charity.

I wonder if my sins is making my appeal to the opp sexes less and less interested. LOLx nowadays no females opportunity. 没桃花啦！heard from a geomancy shifu that if you put pink amethyst crystals in your bedroom, you might be able to attract some babes. lolx OR face reality? ISSIT JUST ME THAT THEY AINT REALLY INTERESTED IN? (and this one largi no cure) So I'll try to shift the blame on pink crystals okie? *bleh*

Approaching 30's

It's a scary thought isnt it?

L0oking back I was still in chatline hooking up every pretty things in mini-skirts and BAM! Its a wake-up call to call it quits, start counting your sperm count and try to maintain a longer life by doing more 'adultish' things.

I'm talking about marriage. settling down and all that mambo jumbo a person at 30's should do. Even Fann is getting married soon right? haizzz

Took my car to the servicing centre on Friday. Another 5k servicing. Surprisingly its cheaper than the 1K servicing I had at upper thomson. $58++ only.

Work is relatively quiet. Nothing big happened. perhaps because Eric doesnt want to overload me. that I duno. I had proposed to clear the cabinet of all messy files and had a system in place. A system that cost a mere 30 dollars. Its called a folder rack. I dont understand why a company like G is so reputable for so many yrs in this marine, but this particular department who reaps the most profits, had the messiest system in place. and its called, MANUAL SYSTEM. *shrugs*

Went to Commex on Saturday. Was helping a friend at the booth and found myself browsing around the halls. a particular SONY VAIO model going for 1.6K? WTF? A VIAO hardly fetches such pricings in the market. and its selling like hot cakes! They also had the CR series, which is selling a nice pink color, all sold out. (I think its a fav with the ladies)

Dell also have a laptop going for 899++ laptop! Color selection! But of course the OS is greatly compromised. But still, LESS THAN 1K? FOR A LAPPIE? WTF? It was really a sinful and tempting Commex 2007 and no wonder the sales for these few days was reportedly at 50 million! The highest so far in all these years. I guess the exhibitors must be laughing all the way to the bank.

and of course, the models there showcasing the various products. Slurps.. the Sony booth models are hot looking. No wonder all the men was scrambling to take photos of them. Never see a single women taking photos. (I think its called.. jealously or something)

Went to catch a movie '1408' John Cusack was the lead. it was pretty tame for a horror movie. the middle part was quite scary, but in American production, the term scary is in the sounds. Not the aspect of the movie. So in the end, you end up telling yourself, is that it? Hardly gives you nitemares.

Met a pretty gal over the weekends too. hoho! But she's supposedly to be my investment agent. FOR NOW. So it was good to have meet someone that makes your day. All done in a professional level of course. Haiz.. when can I have a personal touch to a hottie? its becoming more remote as the prospects dims.

I was on MC today. Eric is in Batam currently listening to some shipowners thrashing out his woes. then my foreman, ah T called in and asked for me. I was deeply surprised. Ah T is a very experienced oldie and because I am new, I doubt he will bothers me with anything. He called and asked if I did buy my extension number in G. My extension number strike 1st prize in Sunday 4D. 3212. (Go see the webbie if you dont believe ;p )

And of course, I got my newcard finallY! Phews, now I can truly introduce myself to my future customers. I also need to re-apply for my missing NRIC which i lost since 2006... (yeah been a year since I lost my precious bruan buffel wallet)

I had to re-report a new report at my neighbourhood NPP. Working in the marine sector is so.. heavy security. None of my cards worked. Driving license? NOPE. 11B militatary IC, NAH. ONLY NRIC! Can you believe it. I lost it cannot work in shipyards leh. -_-' esp the govt-controlled one. (ST someting lah :P)

Will be going to ICA soon to re-do. probably forked out 300 dollars for a over-hyped plastic card. haiz.. and also.. i am selling my precious silver SE K800i limited editon hp. Marine industries also disallow cam fones! Its like doing my reservist full time IN MY WORK! ARGHZ!!!

Going to buy a dull boring non-cam phone. DOWNGRADING EVERYTHING. (well at least iphone isnt going to have a camera installed. I am waiting to trade my O2 for the iphone next year!) I WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST CUSTOMERS IN SG TO OWN ONE iPHONE! WAHAHAHHAA (planning liao)

Not not used to wearing safety helmet and overall to work sometimes. Well, at least my friends WONT SEE ME IN THIS ATTIRE. EVER! So.. its still a hidden truth. Of ugliness. hehe
