Comp fixed!

So happy Victor finally came to my house.

I was plagued with computer problems for like 3 months since the problem started. (was glad the computer hanged so long to wait for it to be fixed)

No more half-way running through the programs and the computer decided to die on me.

Found out that i had a faulty power-box. The fan was so clogged with dust and dirt and we changed the whole power box and now its running like new! *phewS*

And i also took the opportunity to change the whole keyboard and mouse to a wireless. Now my desktop and my server is completely wireless! yipee! The mouse was ultra-sensitive sial. Gonna try to play Counterstrike later on. =x

Lately the weather is super hot. Everywhere I go I am drenched when I came back. its so humid and hot, I need to bath twice a day to get rid of the stickiness. (they says its global warming)

Now my room needs to be on air-con standby everytime I reached home.

I was cosying up at home these days and hardly had any programs. Excep the bice bistro opening which I attended on Tuesday? Whoa, the boss was an Italian or something. I got to shook his hands. hehe. The meals and drinks for that 3-hrs was on the house. they served italian food and there's even a suckling pig outside. Some seafood cusine and oyster in red wine. really full. *Burps*

Next week is the coming Car maintenance talk which I am looking forward to . Had loads of questions to ask the speaker on cars. Hope I wont appear to be too 'kpo' when I nvr even had car yet. Spiderman 3 is coming this mayday, I plan to get the best seat that day. I always wanna be the first to catch a screening. esp blockbuster shows like this.

Naruwan is coming in 12 days time! I am going to Taiwan! Go find rainieee. oops

Peipei (my taiwan friend) had roped in another male friend to help me and milky and painpain to know about taipei! so sweet~ we might be patronizing the night life there. who knows right?

Been staying at home these days. And tomorrow I wont be working as well. I am clearing my leave so I had Monday off follow by Tuesday Labour day, only be back to work on Wed. GM is on his trip to USA and its gonna be MADHOUSE in my company.

Speaking of work, GM finally passed me the Thailand account. (after so many mths of procrastinating). In 3 days alone, I received 30 over emails on just 2 topics. -_-' (I really think I hit "GOLD" or something). Those Thai ppl really so ON DA BALL manz. I'll definitely be on the plane to Bangkok on the next out-station trip with GM. (which I prob think once before this yr ends)

So that's the end of updates this week.

once again thanks Vic kor for the comp repair, as we discussed in my house earlier.

1) get a day next week, we have some claypot with bee in Clementi. Thank you for the comp service.

2) Meet in Ximending if possible for dinner. (Since we both in the same place same week)

And oh.. a final note. A very nice lady from Hongkong arrived in Singapore 2 days ago. Hope you had a good time in Singapore. I am sure the rest of the folks will receive you with open arms.

Starrie died

I was so devastated that night.

It was just a casual weekend when my sis told me that Aisha (my star tortoise) is not eating her veggies. I noticed Aisha had not been eating her meals for most times.

I was worried that she'll be sick you see. So on the fated saturday, I took out the heavy tank, changed the entire bedding and cleaned out the 1 year old grass (yeah, its that old) and threw them away.

It doesnt seems strange to me that I found maggots had been crawling under the grass for quite sometime.

That is why it is making Aisha sick.

Aisha is a gift from a fella chatter gal in Alamak last time. Her name is smurfy and she is very much obessed with tortoises and turtles. This India-star breed is considered an endangered species and was bought illegally in a pet shop in Serangoon.

Heard it fetch around 10K in the black market if you wanna buy one.

I was very fortunate to buy this for $40 5 yrs ago. Aisha is totally minmum maintanence. She's a land tortoise and doesnt smell as bad as the water ones. (terrapins)

When I took her home, she's juz a small pingpong ball and she can float on water as well. she doesnt fear water too. which makes Aisha a very fun and interesting pet to keep because of her small size. small size land tortoise.

So that saturday, I put Aisha on a pail of water and for the first time, and probably my last, I saw her stick her cute head out, and peered the surroundings. Black beady eyes with hawk-like beak. She nvr bite me and she's extremely shy.

So I took one step further and start scrubbing her shell with a brush. I guess I must have gone overboard when i tried to scrub her lower shell. after the whole ordeal, I placed Aisha in a small ball of tissues and wait for her to dry whilst I watch TV.

then I discovered streaks of blood oozing out of her shell. *SHIT!* I exclaimed aloud. I cant take her to the vet knowing it is an endangered species. I quickly clean her wounds and placed her in the tank and hope the blood will start clotting the wound and recover.

Aisha nvr did recovered. =/

The Sunday and MOnday she merely crawled (painfully) back to her bedding. she used to use her claws to open a small hole in the bedding to fit her shell. I saw her sleep that way for the next day.

Aisha passed away in her sleep.

I took out Aisha today and saw the blood did clotted. but I guess she lost a lot of blood that day. she nvr budged when I poked her head. I shake her but she doesnt move. and her body slowly turned black.

I buried her that night. In a small black box with a clear window. I digged the soil below my void deck where the flowers bed is. I tot Aisha might liked it.

I lighted a josstick and pray for her. For 5 yrs i nvr did have time to look at you. I guess you been a great pet. Mum and sis will say u're a fengshui turtle that promotes stability in the family. I wished I would have taken proper care of you but I guess evrything I say is useless now.

But i promise i'll light a josstick at your flower bed for the next 7 days. Hope you nvr had to be a turtle again in your next life. you are part of the things that make my life slightly colorful.

SABOTAGE

After so many months, the termination letter came with the lawyer endorsemenet.

So I was preparing to send this over, and suddenly the phone call rang. It was my Agent'w Wife, AS.

AS was 'semi-retired' after she had her kids and leave everything to my agent to tidy the business. little did she knew that my agent did not do the business as well and she had more juicy news to reveal.

It seems that my Agent company had been sabotaged. No less. and from their own former staffs.

I knew the former staffs, one is a manager dealing in KL sales, his name's CK. and the other a petite lady call Q. So AS was telling me that CK and AS had took off with all their clients data and joined a rival company in Malaysia.

And prior to this, Q also placed a data-erasing virus in the computer and AS found out and managed to erdicate the virus in time.

Talk about a case of bad business ethics. AS was telling me about how nice she was to both of them, and even present CK a Mont-Blanc Pen as a farewell gift for working with them for 7 years.

I listened with an open-mind and merely shrugged. And when I hanged up the phone, I had to say something like "You have my sympathies."

For my agent, it is really unfortunate to have this happening to them.

BUT I was thinking about what AS said. No staffs will do this to their employers unless the employers did something really bastards to them. I understand that my agent belittle the support staffs and he values sales staffs. For simple reason they bring in the cash. but I would think that there must be other reasons why would the 2 staffs betrayed them.

Maybe the rival company paid them so much they had to betray their own code of conduct. But from my point of view, I knew the MD of the rival company. Meow as a cat. Not really possible.

For watever reason, maybe we would not know. and couldnt find out. and for simple one thing. my company also do not care. why?

We're terminating them as agent this coming week.

Talk about double-blow.

I really pity them. =/

Matt's birthday & more events

Attended Matt's birthday last Friday at a place called Bottle Tree Village. It is located at a very ulu samy place called Jalan Mempurong. (Cant blame you if doesnt ring a bell, me either)

Meet up with Evon to go together. I was late (as usual). Nowadays I am anything but early. lolx Took a cab to Sembawang MRT and fetch Evon then proceed down to that ulu place. Wah lau, you are right, we got lost. it is somewhere at the extreme end of the island where you could see Malaysia right opposite.

But the ambience is quite alright. Cool waters and its a seafood place. they sell Zhi char gourment and stuffs. Ala-carte style.

There were Joaniki, Belinda, Cynthia, Fook, and the lovely Cherise, Kenneth, Barty, me and of course the birthday boy Matt. We ordered quite a lot of stuffs and the bill come close to around $200+ but of course it helps when there is 8 of us. Chilli crabs, pepper crabs, chicken, stew, pork, veggies, buns, slurps. Good feast.

It is also the first time I meet up with the folks since the incident. Found that I had somehow drifted quite far from them. But who could blame anyone? its just a phase I guess. haiz. I was quite quiet during the dinner, most of the time I was shaking Cherise stroller gently as she is quite weepy that night.

Hope Matt is happy that dinner. After dinner, the usual headache will always come " what comes after dinner? " Some of us suggested Movies, then some suggested MINDS Cafe. In the end we opted for MINDS Cafe and had some brainy games which tested our IQ and EQ. I had fun. I guess it was fun? Geez nowdays I hardly knew what's fun anymore.

Some events coming soon which makes me so looking forward;

1) Hills have Eyes 2 at Vivocity Premier;

2) Bice Bistro Opening at the Cannery;

3) Vehicle Maintenance Course organised by Comfort Delgro (will be attending with Matt)

4) Taipei trip;

5) Paperwork day for car;

6) Car collection day;

I once taught myself a cold grim fact. the fact that if I remain stagnant and not create events to brighten my life.. there simply is NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. Being single have its flaws. The flaws of nobody giving a shit about you and the dreadful loneliness.

That is why I created so much 'waves' for myself, so much things I could have ignored, like the mail asking me to attend Bice Bistro Opening or the coming movie that could be watched many weeks after. I kept myself busy because I didn't want to remain stagnant. I guess I managed to turn my life around slightly. Not too much, but good enough.

I'm turning 29 this year! *gasps* its only like 4 more months to my birthday. What have I achieved? Have I turned into some tycoon like those ppl said? "east is very rich, can afford a vehicle etc" I just think those perceptions are just so unfounded. I pay instalments like everyone else. I pay taxes like everyone else. certainly not those tycoon character which other perceived to be.

I guess I'll hold one helluva party in St James. Had intention to get the VIP corner at Powerhouse. yeah, I think I'll do that. Somemore they had birthday package that let you 8? More perks being a member than normal consumer. Perhaps I'll rent a villa in Bintan and invite all my good folks over? dun think they'll wanna fork out the boating fees yeah?

Too many thoughts on my mind. Mummy is coming back to Singapore. I as usual, will probably lie low and watch her from the departure hall when everyone is sending her off (like last time). Sometimes, fate gave me a bad hand, and I just had to carry on playing the cards which I was unfairly dealth.

Sometimes I wish Life is like the PS2 I owned, when everything is going against you, all you had to do is to press 'reset'.

But life isnt easy to start with? right? heh.

Men to become redundant? Scientists grow human sperm from bone marrow
LONDON — Scientist have been able to
grow immature human sperm cells from
bone marrow.
If these can be grown into fully developed
sperm, which the researchers hope
to do within five years, it could benefit
thousands of men, including cancer patients
left sterile by chemotherapy.
But the technique provoked an ethical
storm and could soon be jettisoned over
concerns about the safety of using artificial
sperm.
Critics said the treatment threatened
to breach moral boundaries as it would
effectively lead to men being made
redundant as far as reproduction is concerned.
The technique, which could be adapted
to help female infertility by growing
eggs in a lab, would raise the prospect of
children being born through entirely artificial
means.
If the technology were abused, men
could be completely sidelined.
Professor Karim Nayernia, of Newcastle
University’s North-East England
Stem Cell Institute, says that his work centres
around stem cells — blank cells which
have the power to turn into other cell types,
creating a “repair kit” for the body.
Removed from the human bone marrow,
they were grown in a lab and then
coaxed into turning into the cells which
produce sperm.
Prof Nayernia has already shown that
fully-functioning sperm can be created in a
lab from stem cells drawn from mouse embryos.
The artificial sperm fertilised eggs and
seven baby mice were born.
The latest research avoids the ethical
problems associated with embryonic stem
cells by using cells taken from the bone marrow.
Using a patient’s own cells also removes
the possibility of lab-grown material
being rejected by the body.
So far Prof Nayernia, a professor of
stem cell biology, has only created spermatagonial
stem cells — the cells that produce
sperm in the testes — from human
bone marrow.

Struck by flu

yeah... I feel horrible since Tuesday. bet my boss gonna kill me since I took a Monday annual leave and reported sick on Thursday.

Haiz... had tummy ache, headache, diarrhoea, nose is runny, and can't breathe well as the mucus stuck inside my throat. throat feels funny as well.

Lots of issues at hand. CY thinks I am stressed. WHO wouldnt be stress if you had to standby your email every night and standy for emergency calls from the company!?!?

*Really envy those who don't need to bring their lappie home*

Jobs that paid you well enough to spill blood and sweat for the company does have its flaws.

On a lighter note, company had decided to buy me a spare charger to put at home, so I don't need to unplug my current laptop charger every fri liao!

and I will be getting a new laptop bag as this stupid DELL cant fit in the old Fujitsu laptop bag. I'm also demanding a small lighter carry case for usage to Macdonalds. hehe

P:S Anyone had good automotive repair shops to intro for modifications of Lancer?

Updates recently

I guess it's pretty much boring for me as the long weekend seems pretty long for me; Some updates on myself.

1) Went for a Lasik compatibility evaluation recently. (jac intro one) the lasik centre at Orchard Paragon. Took me a couple of hrs to get screened. Doc says I had thin cornea but is compatible for Lasik and a standard Lasik package will do. *around 3K if you wanna add in the follow ups) But I guess the terrible part was when they put that special eyedrops into you and your iris *the dark black part inside your pupil* blown out of proportion (Its suppose to let the doctor check your iris condition) You cant actually read fine prints and you find that bright lights actually hurts)

-I suppose a lot of patients ended up signing the "I DO" form because they can't really read small prints after that lol-

The effects last throughout the weekend and I had to wear shades that week. something I wouldnt wanna went through again.

2) Was viewing through the bintan villa resorts recently. I mean Villas, not resorts lol. Those with private pool and jacuzzi inside the apartment. I found that despite the price which is abeit high, it is actually worth giving it a try. (because of the short ferry trip in Harbourfront, travel expenses is actually very low) For more info : http://www.bintan-resorts.com/brcms/

P:S I aint earning money from this, I aint Xiaxue or some commercialized blogs. Just for ppl who are interested in short weekend away from Singapore, Bintan is worth a consideration w/o tearing your wallet and the place isnt as bad as Batam. (with all the vices activities.. you KNOW)

3) I not sure if this is good news or bad news. apparently Terrence the car agent HAS NOT CALLED ME SINCE April bidding. I'm going down to strangle him tomorrow.

4) Just got some more DVDs this week, had a good time watching so many titles. Still havent finished though.

5) St James Powerstation. Think Mr east is giving it some postphonement till June at least. Sprained my neck which is more serious than I thought. So I couldnt shake neither could I dance. Gonna miss the crowd and the pussies. (ahem, I mean ladies lolx)

6) Boss forced us to take some leaves because I had not cleared 50% if my entitlement before June 07. it would be forfeited. So what could I do? Place all my excess 3 days on public holidays lolxxx I am gonna have a lot of long weekends this coming month.

7) Expect to travel again. Thailand for biz trip, Boss giving me his bastards customers from Thailand. and its like 8 purchasers vs me. Oh boy, I REALLY LOVE MY BOSS. Taiwan the coming May with Milk & Amos. Go see my rainieeeeeeeeeeeee oops. then there's plans for India, a district in Uttar Pradesh called NOIDA. some techno park or something.

Forging customer relations. I called that Whoring.

Just when ppl thought ah-neh country is poor, ACTUALLY ITS A MISCONCEPTION JUST BECAUSE WE SEE A LOT OF THEM WORKING FOR US AS WORKERS. Give it 10-20yrs, another China emerges. So if you wanna invest in cheap manpower and IT, give India a thought.

Life can be so cruel sometimes..

I am a regular news watcher of Taiwanese news (dun ask me why, Singapore doesnt have as much happenings as Taiwan, which I suppose is good news to us)

So I was on my SCV today and I came to know abt a very happy family suddenly torn into shreds. Apparently the man was driving along an expressway for around 3 hrs, his wife on his side and his kids behind.

The wife worried that her husband had been driving non-stop for 3 hrs, volunteered to take over for him as she sensed that he is quite tired behind the wheel. So the husband happily obliged and stopped (illegally) at what we would called a forbidden zone where one lane merged into 2. (For non-drivers, think of it as a divider, triangular one, marked with heavy paint) . No vehicles is supposed to drive into the divider because it suppose to be a zone marking.

The wife stepped out from the left, and within a blink of an eye, a red car smashed right into her and her fragile body smashed right infront of her hubby and her young kids. very tragic.

The red car driver was a young woman driver who had been driving with alcohol limit exceeded normal limits.

So the news was interviewing the man who was sobbing uncontrollably. He said they were a happy family, and it is so heartbreaking to witness the death of his wife and the kids behind, who knows the psychological trauma awaits them later.

It just take 1 sec to make a folly and another to weave a tragic event. I feel so sorry for the family.

That day I couldnt eat much. For someone I never know, my heart goes out to you and your kids.

4. If she's the only one in your life, TELL HER. (If she is the only one in your life and you lose her, you'll probably end up on the MRT tracks. and we'll have a full-time cleaner on the tracks)

5. ALWAYS let her knows how much you like her, love her, or think about her. (Dun let the other guys hear it, they have a name for this kinda guy, its call CHEE HONG. Be discreet abt it)

6. Give her presents and cards for no reason, SHE WILL RETURN THE FAVOUR...ALWAYS. (If you give her something for no reason, she probably think you're after something. and the FAVOUR RETURNED, in 10 cases out of 10, is A WORD OF THANKS, SuckerS)

7. If she hangs up on you, call her right back. (I think this guy makes me so irritated if i am the ger. IF I HANG UP, means I finished talking. YOu expect me to say SOMETHING ELSE?)

8. Always offer to pay. If she says NO twice, then let her pay but make a deal that you get to pay next time (offer a date too!). (ok this sounds fair enough. but i hardly had gers telling me NO to treats -_- and I am usually the one who wont see her for quite sometime after this kNS)
